Project Description

Oct 2020

Sandra is a photo restorer, metalsmith and kaleidoscope artist. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in NYC and studied in Paris. Sandra started creating stained glass kaleidoscopes in 1991 and silversmithing in 1998. Her work has evolved through the years as she combined her kaleidoscope glass work with her love of metalsmithing.

From her studio, Married Metals Kaleidoscopes, in Guilford, CT, Sandra has been creating etched brass, nickel and copper kaleidoscopes that are colorized. We are especially pleased she submitted her design featuring one of our favorite themes.

This Peacock themed marble scope is made from etched brass, colorized and sealed with Permalac. Sandra uses Permalac to seal in the color and protect the metal from oxidation and wear from frequent handling.

Our panel of judges has awarded Sandra a $25 VISA gift card as this months winning entry.
