Project Description
June 2020
The Redmond Committee for Art in Public Places was created in 2006, with a goal of introducing art into select public locations and situations in order to create a unique sense of place and enhance community identity throughout Redmond.
Some of the completed projects were crafted by teams of local students. Others were created by local artists. All significantly enhance the environment of Redmond.
Bruce Taylor, a sculptor and artist who resides in Redmond. He submitted this month’s winning project, “The Eye”. His sculptural installation utilized 200 individual LED light fixtures which could be programmed to change color and patterns. The piece was constructed out of aluminum with stainless steel hardware and the work was coated with Permalac 2k to protect the aluminum finish.
Our panel of judges was captivated and pleased to congratulate Bruce on this amazing work of art.
