  • Permalac 2K is a water clear, two-part urethane coating. Permalac 2K is highly resistant to environmental breakdown caused by UV, acid rain, and salt. It has outstanding adhesion to a variety of substrates, including patinated and polished metals, hard woods, masonry, and stone products. Users report excellent results on copper, brass, bronze, steel, aluminum, zinc, and painted wood substrates. It is available in High Gloss, Satin, and Matte finishes. It consists of 2KA, which carries the finish, and 2KB, which contains the hardener. The parts are most often sold in kits, but can also be purchased separately as needed.

  • #500 Retarder can be added to the Permalac Original, Permalac EF, or Permalac NT. It should be used to extend flow time and prevent solvent blush when working in high temperatures or high relative dew points.
  • #69 Thinner is a medium speed lacquer thinner. Thin Permalac up to 30% with #69 to prevent webbing and humidity blush, and to promote flow. For use when ambient temperatures are between 68-88°F.
